The second day of the Swachhta Student Camp, organised at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, witnessed a powerful and inspiring address by Licypriya Kangujam, one of the world's youngest Indian climate activists and founder of The Child Movement.
According to a release issued by RIMS, Licipriya's impactfill speech resonated deeply with participants, emphasizing the urgent need for collective action against climate change and the critical role of young people in shaping a sustainable future.
Licypriya urged attendees to take proactive steps toward environmental conservation, stressing that the time to act is now.
Highlighting the devastating impacts of climate change and environmental degradation, she called for the adoption of sustainable practices and policies to safeguard the planet for future generations.
The day also featured expert sessions on "Waste Management & Segregation" and "Climate Change", which underscored the importance of responsible environmental behaviour.
A thought-provoking panel discussion on "How Young Minds Can Contribute to a Healthier Society", highlighted the innovative ideas and enthusiasm of the younger generation in addressing pressing environmental challenges.
In addition, the event emphasized the adoption of Plastic-Free Practices to reduce plastic pollution, with interactive activities such as a Poster and Slogan Writing Competition on the theme, "Plastic-Free Society".
The creativity and passion displayed by the participants were a testament to the commitment of young minds toward building a greener future.
