LOUSAL celebrates 'Loumee Numit'

Imphal, September 21 2024: "Loumee Numit" was observed today by Loumee Shinmee Apun Lup (LOUSAL), Manipur at Loumee Ningsing Yumbee, Pungdongbam in Lamlai Assembly Constituency.

In a release, LOUSAL informed that the observation began with the offering of floral tributes at the memorial stone.

It was followed by a public meeting graced by LOUSAL president Laishram Kiranjit, Pungdongbam Khul Development Committee president Khaidem Jugeshwar, Chingkham Debachandra, Thingbaijam Babudhon, Irengbam Jella and Haobam Yaiskul as presidium members.

People from Pungdongbam area and members of Pungdongbam Youth Physical Club also attended the meeting.

The meeting deliberated on a number of issues and grievances of the farmers.

LOUSAL has appealed to the State Government to take necessary steps to distribute seeds & other agricultural inputs to the farmers on time, provide compensation to those farmers who could not cultivate paddy or engage in agricultural activities due to the ortgoing conflict and implement the Manipur Conservation of Paddy Land & Wetland Act 2014 at the earliest.

LOUSAL also urged the Government to improve irrigation facilities as well as availability of urea to overcome the food dependency by the State on other States.
