Imphal, July 20 2026: The yearlong Laishram Samarendra Birth Centenary Celebration concluded on Monday at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.

The event, organised by the Laishram Samarendra Birth Centenary Celebration Committee, was graced by Sahitya Akademi Awardee Rajkumar Bhubonsana, Writers Union Manipur advisor SM Sheikh, Kabui Literature and Research Akademi president Lambon Kabul, Nepali Sahitya Parishad Manipur advisor Bhawani Adhikari, Committee chairman Yengkhom Anilkumar, and convenor Saratchand Thiyam as presidium members.

Speakers said Laishram Samarendra was a poet who deeply loved Manipur and thought extensively about the State.

They added that the yearlong programme was held with the aim of introducing his contributions to Manipuri literature to the people of Manipur, the region, and the world.
