The association of Surgeons of India (ASI), the apex national professional body of surgeons including all general and specailist surgeons, is going to organise a Continueing Medical Education (CME) programme on Current Trends and Technologies in surgery for the first time in North East on May 30 and 31 at the Landmark Hotel, Guwahati.
More than 20 eminent national faculties of various surgical disciplines are expected to deliver talks on their respective fields of expertise and also to interact with the audience, according to information received from the organisers.
The topics will include "Emerging technologies/robotic surgery, minimal excess surgery, Hernia, Paediatric surgery, Onco surgery, GI surgery bariatric surgery, Thoracic surgery, Endocrine and Breast surgery and Day-care surgery.
The meet is expected to be a great academic feast with so many national surgical stalwarts from different surgical disciplines congregating at the same venue to share their knowledge and experience with the surgical trainees and the practicing surgeons of the region at their doorstep.
Stalwarts like Dr RP Srivastava, President ASI, Dr MC Misra and Dr Arvind Kumar from AIIMS, Dr NK Pandey the president elect of the Association of Surgeons of India, Dr Shrihari Dhorepatil from Pune, Dr Vipul Roy Rathod from Mumbai, Dr AK Kriplani from Apollo, Delhi, Dr Ravi Ramadwar, Laparoscopic pediatric surgeon from Bombay Hospital are among the national faculty.
Some distinguished surgical faculty from the North East would also be among the speakers.
Chairman of the organising committee of the CME, Dr H Borah and Co-chairman/Organising Secretary, Dr Subhash Khanna, on behalf of the committee, appealed to all the practising surgeons and post graduate trainees in surgery and its super specialties in theNorth East.
