The state Cabinet has today decided to introduce the Manipur Medical Council Bill in the ongoing Assembly session in order to facilitate the passing of the Bill.
A Cabinet source disclosed that a memo has been sent today to the Governor seeking his consent for the introduction of the Bill.
The Bill is proposed to be introduced in the house on July 20 while the Bill will be discussed on July 23 .
The Cabinet meeting which was convened this morning has also approved of upgrading the Manipur Police Training School to college level.
The up-gradation will facilitate providing training to Havildars, Asistant Sub-Inspectors, Jamedar and Sub-Inspectors apart from imparting training to riflemen/constables.
The Cabinet has also entrusted the Home department to appraise the needed infrastructures and estimate the amount for the up-gradation.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet has also decided yet again not to alter the state reservation policy.
The source disclosed that the decision has been taken to uphold the Supreme Court order which prohibited more than 50 percent of reservation.
Accordingly, 31 percent reservation for ST , 2 percent for SC and 27 percent for OBC will remain intact.
The meeting was also said to have discussed for taking up stringent legal measures against general strike/bandh and blockade sponsored by various organisations of the hill and the valley in view of the sufferings caused to the people, the Cabinet source disclosed further.
