Imphal, June 09 2025:
Criticising the present President's Rule administration, the Coordinating Body on Crisis-Manipur stated that the arrest of Arambai Tenggol members is not only eroding public trust on the present administration but also exacerbating the crisis in Manipur.
According to a statement of the Committee, the people expected return of peace and normalcy with the coming of President's Rule after the previous popular government failed to resolve the crisis for nearly two years.
However, the present PR administration has turned out to be contradictory to the expectation of the people and rather worsened the crisis with no solution in sight.
"It's like the government is adding salt to the wounds by arresting AT members," said the Committee.
The statement issued by committee convener L Sumatibala also alleged that the present administration is carrying forward the hill-valley divide with indifferent outlook jn the tiny state and questioned the agenda of the present PR administration behind the removal of the word 'Manipur' within Manipur.
"Before resolving the issue relating to removal of Manipur, people of the state encountered flood thereby giving severe economic blow and now the PR administration has thrown the people into a large un-climbable pit," the statement related.
Even at this stage, there is no solution in sight and people continue to suffer with more intensity, the committee rued, adding that the PR administration should understand that the people want return of stable life by bringing solution to the crisis at the earliest.
While terming the ban/sus-pension of mobile internet as unreasonable, the committee appealed to the present ad ministration to revoke the ban.
