A bilateral meeting between officials of India and Myanmar was held at the recreation hall of Myanmar Police Force, Tamu station yesterday, reports our Moreh correspondent.
The Indian delegates included Embassy of India, Yangon Counsellor Srinivash Prasad, SP Chandel K Radhashyam, SDPO Moreh/Immigration Officer M Rameshwar.
In Myanmarese delegates were led by Tamu Town Chairman Kuang Sang Oo, Deputy Director Immigration, Myanmar and O/C of Tamu Police station.
The main agenda of the meeting was the four Indians arrested by Myanmar Police from Skipe village, Ukhrul district on March 4, this year.
SP Chandel K Radhashyam said that the meeting was very cordial.
The Indian delegates also met the four Indians at Tamu Police station after they were brought out from a prison of the Junta.
Trial conducted by Myanmar Immigration Office over the Indian prisoners has been already completed though no judgement has been announced.
Srinivash Prasad said that he would consult with all relevant departments once he reaches Yangon and even contact his Myanmarese counterpart, if necessary to secure release of the four Indian nationals using diplomatic channels.
The meeting culminated with a joint lunch at Water World Restaurant.
