Imphal, December 17 2023:
Maintaining that the fate of the state will be uncertain under BJP rule, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) spokesperson Hareshwar Goswami said that uprooting BJP is the only means to save Manipur.
Addressing a press conference at Rishang Keishing hall, Congress Bhawan here on Sunday, Hareshwar said that several crucial issues are accumulating under the BJP government without actually solving them.
In such situation, another term of BJP rule would mean downfall of the state and people must oust the party in order to save the state.
BJP boasts of making history and indeed, the party has scripted a history as the state witnessed the first every Ningol Chakkouba wherein women observed hunger strike, he said wryly.
Further commenting that the state witnessed the first ever dark Diwali under the BJP rule, he expressed concern that Meeteis are unable to step out of the valley area and farmers are working in the field under security protection.
The indigenous people of Manipur are becoming refugees in their own state with over 60,000 people displaced due to the aggression by narco-terrorists.
As the Indian Army has been unable to fight the narco-terror groups common people are compelled to take up arms and defend themselves.
Hills and valley have been divided under the BJP rule and the state had also witnessed the shortest ever assembly session of just 9 minutes.
Interestingly, several schools were also found affiliated with CBSE without the knowledge of the government.
These are the histories BJP made in the state, he said.
The three MPs from the state did not uttered a single word in the winter session of the parliament even though two of them said that they have submitted necessary papers for bringing up the issue of Manipur and are awaiting approval.
It is unfortunate for them to wait for approval when the state is burning for more than seven months.
They should exercise their rights and bring up the issue even if they do not received approval and there is no meaning for them to hold the post if they remain silent on this issue, the spokesman added.
