Imphal, December 17 2023:
The Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has urged the State Government to probe the report of 35 schools at Churachandpur and Kangpokpi being affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) without obtaining No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the relevant authority with utmost seriousness and penalise the defaulters.
MSF, in a statement, said that there is a report of 35 schools (19 at Churachandpur and 16 at Kangpopki) being affiliated to CBSE at the School Affiliation Re-Engineered Automation System (SARAS) .
The Federation claimed that the State Government, however, didn't give any NOC to affiliate these 35 schools to CBSE.
Saying that schools under the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) have to obtain NOC from the State Government to change its affiliation to CBSE or any other Board, MSF maintained that the latest NOC was given to only one school in May 2020 as per the Education Minister.
Claiming that there is even a report of the signature of Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) concerned being forged to affiliate these 35 schools at Churachandpur and Kangpokpi to CBSE, the Federation urged the Government to probe the matter on a war footing.
MSF won't accept the affiliation of any school to CBSE or other Boards fraudulently, it said and asked the Government to take the development very seriously.
