AR flags off tour; organises meet, medical camp

Under the aegis of IGAR (S), 10 Sector Assam Rifles commander flagged off a national integration tour to Kolkata from Somsai on Sunday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the tour team comprises 34 participants including 25 students from Kamjong, Tengnoupal and Imphal from a heartening mix of Naga, Kuki and Meitei communities.
The 13-day event aims to provide a platform to the youth to nurture national integration, social harmony and build inquisitive nature while providing kids with an exposure to the rich culture, history of the armed forces of our nation, the PRO added.
On the other hand, AR organised a "Welfare and Rehabilitation Board meeting, at ARE-SA, Imphal East on Saturday with the attendance of veterans of Assam Rifles including three junior commissioned officers, 40 other ranks and two veer naris.
During the meeting, various issues projected by members of ARESA were addressed and they were informed about the latest Career counselling cum Pre Recruitment training drives for their dependents run by Assam Rifles, the PRO informed.
Meanwhile, at Singhat village in Churachandpur district, Assam Rifles organised a medical camp as part of its civic action project for the FY 2023-24 on Saturday in the memory of Colonel Viplav Tripathi and riflemen N Khatnei Konyak, Suman Swargiary, Rajendra Prasad Meena and Shyamal Das, who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation, the PRO conveyed.
