AITUC/MSC kicks off "Struggle Month"

Imphal, July 29 2025:
Accompanied by numerous workers, the All India Trade Union Congress, Manipur State Committee kickstarted the "Struggle Month" movement to "Save Manipur Change Manipur" at Irawat Bhawan today.
The event was attended by AITUC/MSC general secretary L Sotinkumar; secretary Kh Shamungou, Thoubal district AITUC/MSC president U Rajmohan, Manipur Minority Unorganised Workers Union general secretary Rahe Raj Begum and Manipur Barbers' Association secretary Papu Thakur as presidium members.
Speaking at the event, L Sotinkumar said that the prolonged Manipur conflict has greatly affected the common people, workers and farmers.
Saying that workers' demands continue to remain neglected, he also highlighted the need to stop the ongoing privatisation of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
The main demands behind launching the "Struggle Month" include restoration of free movement along the National highways, fixing Rs 26,000 per month as minimum wage, implementation of Food Security Act, providing special economic package, fixing Rs 600 per day for MGNREGA workers and upgrading the status of scheme workers as Government employees among others.
