Manipuri novel Huranba Shaklabi Thoinu released

Birmangal Naorem's novel "Huranba Shaklabi Thoinu" was released during a simple function held at the auditorium of the Representatives of Lois (RoL) office located at Kakching Chumnang Leikai today.
The writer hails from Kakching Khunyai Leikai.
The book release ceremony was graced by Thokchom Tomba, former Minister, as the chief guest; Nimai Pukhramba, president, Writer's Association Kakching as the functional president and Kshetrimayum Rajeshwar, retd Associate Professor, GP Womens' College and Sahitya Akademi awardee as the guest of honour.
The ceremony commenced with a minute of silence to honour the martyrs who laid down their lives during the protracted Manipur conflict.
Meanwhile, Dr Nongmaithem Pramodini Devi, president, Macha Chanu presented an introduction of the book on the occasion.
As a part of the book release ceremony, a floral tribute was offered on the portrait of Late Dr Khumallambam Sorojini Devi, former Director, Art & Culture Department.
Additionally, Birmangal Moirangthem, secretary, Writers' Association Kakching also spoke in depth about the life and contributions of the deceased Art & Culture former Director Dr Khumallambam Sorojini.
