Imphal, January 24 2025: GP Women College Students Union has urged the State Government to appoint a regular principal of GP Women College to ensure its smooth functioning and administration.

Addressing a press conference today at the college, GP Women College Students Union general secretary Thokchom Yaiphabi appealed to the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to appoint a new principal of GP Women Collage.

"Since the retirement of the last Principal, the post has been lying vacant for quite some time", she added.

She also urged the authorities concerned to appoint the new principal from amongst the senior most teachers of GP Women College, provided the teacher fulfills all the required criteria, to ensure smooth functioning of the college.

"In this regard, talks were held with the authority of DM University.

However, we did not get any positive response from the authority", she lamented.

Furthermore, Thokchom Yaiphabi warned of launching a series of intense agitation if their demands are not fulfilled at the earliest.
