Grand ex-servicemen rally organised at Kakching Garrison

The Assam Rifles organised a grand ex-servicemen rally today at Kakching Garrison bringing together 298 ex-servicemen, 58 Veer Naris/widows, wards of World War II veterans and 74 dependants from across Manipur.
Under the theme 'Pride in Service: Remembering, Reflecting, and Rekindling', the rally was a heartfelt tribute to the service and sacrifices of veterans and their families, while also addressing their concerns and needs, said a press release issued by IGAR (S).
The rally was graced by prominent dignitaries, including the Director General Assam Rifles, IGAR (South), Lt Gen Konsam Himalay Singh PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), DIG Range 2, the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police of Kakching, and the Special Secretary to the Home Commissioner.
The event included several service-oriented kiosks, such as a medical camp, social welfare kiosk, skill development center and Assam Rifles exclusive support desks.
These kiosks provided one-stop solutions for various issues faced by the veterans and their families.
Additionally, National banks, private banks, Fisheries Department, Social Welfare Department and Manipur Society for Skill Development, Horticulture Department, Animal Husbandry, Ayushman Bharat Card, private security agencies etc also set up stalls at the event to provide essential service to the ex-servicemen.
As a mark of appreciation, essential items such as motorized wheelchairs, commode chairs, hearing aids, blankets, electric kettles and walking sticks were distributed to assist the veterans and their loved ones.
In a vibrant display of cultural heritage, the event featured performances of the Khukri dance and Pipe Band displays by Assam Rifles, along with traditional Manipuri dance performed by students of Assam Rifles Public School, Kakching.
