Imphal, September 17 2024: The Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee observed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday today as 'Unemployment Day' .

Observing the day along with other youth members, MPYCC president, Ningthoujam Popilal said after the BJP came to power, it has brought the "gift of unemployment" for the youth of the country.

The Prime Minister of the country is least bothered about employment of the youth, and hence the Youth Congress is observing his birthday as Unemployment Day, the MPYCC president said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to provide 2 crore jobs every year to the youths of the country.

Accordingly, 20 crore youths should have been employed by now, he said, adding that the reality is quite the opposite.

Manipur has a large population of youth but a vast number of them are still unemployed.

Under the BJP Government, the State is facing an economic slowdown and the youths are disappointed.

This is a very scary situation, Popilal said.
