SBI presents Rs 10 lakh to Mirabai

Imphal, August 02 2021: SBI Regional Business Office Imphal on Monday presented a cash incentive of Rs 10 lakh to Tokyo Olympic silver medallist Saikhom Mirabai Chanu as encouragement, during a function held at Classic Hotel, North AOC here.

Meanwhile, the bank has announced that it would be opening a branch office in Lamlai.

Speaking on the occasion, SBI general manager Local Head Office North Eastern Circle Guwahati Lumkin Thangboi noted that Mirabai's win at the Tokyo Olympics-2020 is a proud moment for the country and the state.

He then prayed for Mirabai to win a gold medal in the next Olympic Games.

In her speech, Mirabai credited her success to the prayers of the public and vowed to work harder to win a gold medal in the 2026 Olympics.

She then suggested the bank to open a branch office in Lamlai.

In response, Regional Business Office regional manager Girindra Sharma assured of opening a SBI Branch office in Lamlai within next year.
