Imphal, July 15 2009:
A combined team of Imphal west police commandos and Thoubal police commandos, during raid at a house of a local Meira Paibi leader at Khangabok Meisnam Leikai in Thoubal district and detained five members of the house for interrogation.
Senior SP, Imphal west district police, L Kailun said in a press conference held at his office chamber that the weapons were found hiding at the house of one Laishram Shyamjai whose wife Thoi is taking part main role in the organization of meira paibi group in the village.

The seized weapons which were displayed in the meet were one AK-56 with magazine, two lathod guns one magazine each of 9 mm pistol and .32 pistol, two Kenwood wireless sets, 45 live rounds of AK, two lathod shells, one receipt book of KCP, a Honda Activa (MN-01M-9389) and two mobile handsets.
The cache of arms and ammunitions were recovered during a raid conducted by the combined team of the Imphal west and Thoubal district police commandos from this noon till around 3 pm based on specific information of taking shelter some KCP activists at the village, Kailun added.
Five members of the house, Thoi (44) wife of Shyamjai, her son, L Vishan (23), daughters Bijaya (21), Sheela (19) and M Amu son of Moirangthem Medha of Khangabok Naorem Leikai were picked for verification and interrogation on the recovery of weapons and ammunitions.
The senior SP further said that Thoi is among the women of the village who is taking part active role in the miera paibi organization.
"It is an unfortunate thing recovering such weapons and ammunitions of outlaw outfit from her home," he added.
Appropriate action will be taken up against her, Kailun said adding that even though she or any of the members of the family is an activist of the underground, storing of weapons and ammunition in illegal manners can be treated a maintaining nexus with the outlaw organizations.
