Kanggui, December 01 2013 : "Give me power to help the poor and needy people is my humble prayer to God", said Ngamthang Haokip, IFC Minister, Govt.of Manipur said, adding "I am the Minister for the poor and needy and not for the wealthy people" .

He was speaking at the first Charity Programme-Charity Show in aid of Orphanage children in Sadar Hills organized by Agape Children Home, Kanggui at Kanggui C.C.Hall today.

Minister Ngamthang Haokip further asserted that those who help the poor and the needy as well as orphans and religious leaders are blessed people for they are doing the will of God.

The Minister said, "It is the blessed gift of God that I am always inducted as a Cabinet Minister every time I am elected as an MLA to help and support the poor and needy people" .

While encouraging the children in the orphanage, the IFC Minister lamented that during his childhood days if there was an Orphanage Home, he would also be there because his parents passed away when he was still a little boy.

"But with the prayer, patience and determination now I am one honourable and responsible Minister of the State.If I can be a Minister, you (the orphanage children) can also become one respectable and responsible person in future", the Minister added.

While wishing for the coming Christmas, the Minister also donated Rs.20,000/- in cash to the Agape Children Home, Kanggui as a Christmas gift and appealed to everyone to struggle hard for peaceful celebration of Christmas in the areas.

Minister Ngamthang Haokip also paid a visit to Agape Children Home at Kanggui Ward.No.11 where he met the children and assured to donate a sum of Rs.5 lacs for its building construction.

H.Joseph, Father of Agape Children Home and Chonkam Kipgen, Chairman of Kanggui Town Committee were also present on the occasion marked by cultural dance and choreography by inmates of the Orphanage.

Various Gospel artistes from Churches within Kanggui also enthralled the congregation with their soul stirring numbers.
