Imphal, June 01 2025: Khongnangthaba University celebrated World Environment Day 2025 by organising a poster competition on the theme, "Ending Plastic Pollution Globally" at Multi-Media Centre of the university on Friday.

The event organised by the Eco-Chapter of the university was presided over by Dr A Guneshwar Sharma, said a release issued by Khongnangthaba University.

The event began with a welcome address by Dr K Kunjabali Singh, Deputy Director (Research), Khongnangthaba University followed by a speech from Dr Atom Sunil Singh, Registrar, Khongnangthaba University.

Dr A Guneshwar Sharma elaborated on how students can be the leaders and protectors of the environment.

He also asserted that the fight against plastic pollution is crucial due to its severe environmental, economic, and health impacts.

The event concluded with the presentation of prizes to the winners of the competition.

The prizes were sponsored by Dr A Guneshwar Sharma in the memory of his parents and grandfather.
