Eviction order served against encroachers at Ukhrul Court Complex

Ukhrul, July 29 2025: The Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Asish Das, has issued an eviction order against encroachers for the illegal occupation of land at the ongoing construction site of the District Court Complex (Old SDO Office) in Ukhrul town.

As per the official order, the standing structure of Jama Masjid and another structure belonging to PN Sorin were found to have encroached on Government land within the Court complex premises.

The Jama Masjid had allegedly extended 17.32 square feet beyond it alloted 40x32 square feet, while PN Sorin was found to have encroached on an estimated 58x35 square feet area on the southern side of the complex.

The action comes following an inquiry conducted by the Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) of Ukhrul, dated July 16, 2025 .

The order directs the involved parties to dismantle the unauthorized structures and vacate the premises within 10 days.

Failure to comply will result in forced eviction without further notice, the order stated.

The DC has also entrusted the SDO Ukhrul to execute the eviction proceedings.

It is worth mentioning that the Chief Justice of Manipur High Court visited the site and inspected the progress of the Court complex construction.
