AR takes out donation drive; 5th meeting of JWG held

Imphal, May 28 2024:
Assam Rifles organised a donation drive in Phundrei village in Thoubal yesterday, said a press release issued by IGAR (South) .
The aim of the donation drive is to reach out to the storm affected people of Phundrei, the IGAR (South) said and added that the 50 affected families were given clothes, books and utensils which were collected during a donation drive organised by Assam Rifles.
The IGAR (S), meanwhile, said that the 5th meeting of Joint Working Group (JWG) between Assam Rifles and Indian Coast Guard was held at Laitkor.

Saying that the meeting was chaired by Director General of Assam Rifles Lieutenant General P C Nair, it added that the delegation of Indian Coast Guard consisted of DIG Pankaj Verma, DIG Pramod Pokhriyal and Commandant Ranjan Biswas.
The Joint Working Group meeting between Assam Rifles and Indian Coast Guard is conducted every year to enhance inter force cooperation and integration, it added.
The emphasis of the 5th meeting of JWG was on greater understanding of operational ethos, building camaraderie and utilization of assets for training, sports and adventure among others, it said.
