Imphal, October 25 2026:
Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo Singh today attended the completion function of various development works at Keishamthong Kabui Community Hall as chief guest.
The programme was organised by Keishamthong Kabui Peikai (Thoubei) and attended by local dignitaries, elders and residents.
The completed works include upgradation of the community hall with Dyna roofing, construction of a tiled stage, rectification of hall acoustics, whitewashing and electrification, construction of drain covers, construction of approach road to the cemetery near Bamboo Temple and earth filling at the graveyard.
Residents said long-standing problems of roof leakage and excessive echo had earlier hindered community gatherings and cultural programmes.
With the improvements, the hall now looks and functions like a newly constructed facility.
Responding to proposals from residents, RK Imo Singh assured that a new building for Keishamthong Kabui Khul dedicated to cultural and recreational activities will be constructed in the next financial year and the old Laishang of the Khul will also be renovated.
He said remaining drainage and road works will commence soon and water pipelines have been laid throughout the locality.
The MLA appealed to people to choose representatives rooted in the community and committed to public service, and to judge candidates by their work', dedication and commitment, keeping the future of Sagolband and Manipur in mind.
