Imphal, July 21 2026:
The Apunba Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK) has announced that all night music shows organised by members, sound & light crews, and bands must conclude by 10:30 pm starting today.
Addressing the media at Hotel Imolesh, Old Lambulane Road, AMMIK secretary Konthoujam Bobin said the decision was taken by advisors and the managing committee considering public convenience and the hardships faced by artists.
He appealed to musicians and organisers to avoid putting pressure for late performances.
In case of unavoidable delay due to rain, shows must end by 11 pm.
Members violating the guideline will be held personally responsible, he added.
Bobin added that late-night shows have affected the health of artists and musicians for years.
AMMIK also seeks public support to curb the growing trend of using music festivals as platforms for liquor consumption.
However, on major festivals like Yaoshang, New Year and Diwali, the timing may be extended by an hour, he said.
He further announced a month-long "Observance of Patriots' Month 2026" music campaign from August 1 in schools and colleges to honor patriots through patriotic songs, dance and music.
A 2-day workshop will conclude the campaign.
AMMIK also urged old members and new bands to enroll before July 22 .
