CM inspects dredging work at Lamphelpat

Chief Minister N Biren Singh inspected the dredging work of the Lamphelpat waterbody project today.
Posting on Facebook about his visit, Chief Minister N Biren said the rejuvenation of Lamphelpat Water Body is crucial for the region's development, addressing current challenges and future water crisis.
Notably, the Lamphelpat waterbody project is aimed at restoring the depleting waterbody for conservation of water.
The project will help mitigate floods and solve the water crises.
In addition, the water body will enhance the State's eco-tourism industry, N Biren said.
The dredging work is being taken up by Reach Dredging Limited under the State's Water Resources Department.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to maintain progress and complete the project on time.
Cabinet Ministers Govindas Konthoujam, Awangbow Newmai, Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh, Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh and Kashim Vashum, MLAs Thongam Shanti Singh, S Kebi, Kh Ibomcha, Kh Joykisan and officials of the Water Resources Department accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection.
