Jeena re-elected to NCUI Governing Council

Imphal, July 20 2026:
Jeena Potsangbam has been reelected as a member of the Governing Council of the National Co-operative Union of India (NCUI) for the second consecutive term, becoming the lone woman member in the council.
In the election held on July 18, 2026, representatives of 17 cooperative unions across the country cast their votes.
Jeena Potsangbam, representing Manipur State Cooperative Union, secured 15 votes, while her rival, the President of Sikkim State Cooperative Union, received 2 votes.
Jeena first entered the NCUI Governing Council in 2020, opening the account as a female member from the Northeast.
NCUI, an umbrella body under the Ministry of Cooperation headquartered at Siri Institutional Area, New Delhi, focuses on promoting cooperatives, member education, and advocacy.
Jeena's re-election marked a milestone for Manipur in the national cooperative movement.
