Meeting, awareness programme held

Imphal, January 19 2026:
As part of its ongoing effort to curb the abuse of drugs and alcohol, Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) conducted an awareness programme at Chanung Multipurpose Community Hall, Imphal East district today.
As per a release issued by CADA, the programme was held under the theme, "Nisana Khunaida Piba Chietheng Amasung Massibu Thingbada Meeyamgi Thoudang".
The programme was attended by CADA president Hijam Priyokumar, Chanung Kanglei Chanura Meira Paibi president Sarangthem Thoibimacha Devi, Chanung Development Committee former secretary Ningthoujam Tangba and Chanung Sintha Club secretary Yaikhom Nongdamba as presidium members.
CADA secretary general Takhellambam Geetchandra Meetei and vice president Ningthoujam Doren also attended the programme as resource persons.
Meanwhile, the Manipur Consortium of Potato & Onion Freight and Trader (MACPOFT) convened its annual wholesaler & retailer meet at Manipur Press Club, Imphal today to discuss issues related to market regulation and sustainable trade practices.
The event, held under the theme "Protecting our market in a sustainable economy", was graced by dignitaries, including Khumanthem Diana, Director, Transport Department, Manipur; M Dipak, president, MACPOFT; K Bono Singh, Director, CAF&PF, Manipur; M Phulchand Sharma, president, Consume Club; and Sunil Jain, proprietor, Reshab Enterprises, Thangal Keithel.
