Imphal, November 16 2024: National Media Confederation (NMC), Manipur State observed the 58th National Press Day at the office premises of Young Women Help Organisation in Thambalkhong on Saturday The observance was attended by NMC state president LM Sana, Imphal Times editor Rinku Khumukcham and UMO president Moirangthem Sorojini Leima as presidium members In his speech, Rinku Khumukcham observed the changes in the way how media is in the present times, with one receiving news instantly.

He then said that the backbone of press and media are the journalists.

They play a crucial role in the society and as such, should carefully understand their responsibility amid the prevailing situation in the state While there is a big question on whether we, as journalists, are still upholding to the principle of being neutral and without bias, journalists should always stand on the side of the truth instead of being on the fence, he asserted.
