CAU, Imphal to host National Group Meet for Rabi 2025-26

Imphal, September 15 2025:
All India Coordinated Research Project on Forage Crops and Utilization, College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, will be hosting the National Group Meet for Rabi, 2025-26 from September 18-19, 2025 at College of Agriculture, CAU, Imphal.
The programme which is being jointly organised by ICAR-Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi and CAU, Imphal will be inaugurated by senior officials from national agricultural institutions and government bodies.
It will bring together a wide spectrum of participants including scientists working on forage crop improvement, production, and protection, as well as representatives from the dairy sector across India.
In addition, private companies engaged in forage crop development and commercialization will also take part in the event.
The National Group Meet will serve as a platform to review and showcase the achievements of forage research centres across India in the domains of crop improvement, production, and protection.
The meet will also include discussions on proposed new trials to be undertaken during the upcoming Rabi season.
A dedicated session of the Variety Release Committee will be held, during which newly developed forage crop varieties will be formally announced.
In addition to research-focused deliberations, the programme will feature a separate session highlighting the accomplishments of outreach initiatives such as Front Line Demonstrations (FLDs), Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP), Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP), and North Eastern Hill (NEH) components.
The meet will also facilitate strategic discussions aimed at enhancing fodder crop productivity and production to meet the growing demands of the livestock sector.
