Two killed in road mishaps

Imphal, November 12 2025:
Two persons were killed and four others sustained injuries in two separate road accidents that occurred in Thoubal district today.
In the first accident, a Royal Enfield motorcycle collided with an auto-rickshaw at Khangabok Khullakpam Leikai near Charum Mandap around 11.10 am.
The auto-rickshaw driver, identified as Laishram Ingocha Singh (52), a resident of Khangabok Part-I Awang Leikai, died on the spot.
The motorcyclist, Thokchom Thoithoiba (21), son of late Thoiba of Khangabok Mayai Leikai, sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
In the second accident, two Honda Activa scooters collided near the Thoubal District Hospital gate at Khangabok around 12.20 pm, killing one person and injuring three others.
The deceased has been identified as Leimapokpam Ingo (52) of Athokpam Awang Leikai.
His wife, Nomita (50), who was riding pillion, sustained injuries.
The other two injured persons on the second scooter were Thiyam Lanthoibi (20), son of late Manao of Wangjing Awang Leikai, and Kangabam Gitanjali Devi (27), wife of Romesh of Yairipok.
All the injured persons were given first aid at Thoubal District Hospital and later referred to RIMS.
Thoubal police have registered two separate cases in connection with the accidents.
