Imphal, May 11 2009: THE Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM) has registered its dissatisfaction over the 'sub-standard' construction of Nungleiband (Leimatak Bridge) along the National Highway 53A.A press release issued by its information secretary ID Chunlubo and finance secretary Thaingamlung stated that a team of students, inspecting the substandard components of construction by the contractor of SK Construction and Shyamkishore, had demolished the base pillars while informing the concerned contractor to complete the work of demolition and start the work.

The statement mentioned that the portion of works which Shyamkishore contacts has not been started yet while adding that the EE Bishnupur should also be pulled up for appropriate action for corruption.

Further, the students' body asserts that it would no longer tolerate the state of affairs and appeals to all concerned to redress the same lest the students' union shall launch agitations.
