Lilong local clubs stand against rise in monetary demands, abductions

Thoubal, July 28 2024: Citing a marked increase in instances of monetary demands, ransom related abductions and violence in the last few months, a joint press release issued by eight local clubs in Lilong has demanded an end to such illegal acts in Lilong area which can incite fear among the people.

The joint statement issued by Lilong Development forum (LDF), Social Development Association Lilong Uku, Karampat Youth Development Organization (KYDO), Haoreibi Ideal Development Association (HIDA), Social Welfare Development Association (SWDA), Hangamthabi Youth Club (HYC), Lilong Ipham Leikai Development Club (LILDC) and Anti Social Prevention Action Committee (ASPAC) Lilong also collectively condemned the activities perpetrated by unlawful organisations.

Stating that the public of Lilong want peace, it advocated against wilful kidnappings, ransom demands, shootings, bomb attacks and monetary demands in Lilong.
