CPI(M) Manipur extends solidarity to Sonam Wangchuk, protesting students at Jantar Mantar

The Manipur State Committee of CPI(M) has expressed its unwavering solidarity with noted educator and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk and students on an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.
In a press release issued on Monday, State secretary Ksh Santa said the movement against examination irregularities, repeated paper leaks in national competitive examinations, and for institutional accountability is a just and democratic struggle to safeguard the future of India's youth, including those from Manipur.
The CPI(M) strongly condemned the forcible removal of Sonam Wangchuk from the protest site by Delhi Police and the repression of a peacefill democratic movement The party stated that instead of addressing student concerns through dialogue, authorities have resorted to coercive measures.
CPI(M) demanded an immediate end to such actions, a transparent dialogue with protesters, accountability for paper leaks, comprehensive reforms of the national examination system, and safety and dignity for Sonam Wangchuk and all student Satyagrahis.
The party also extended full support to nationwide demonstrations held on July 20 and urged civil society, student bodies and democratic forces in Manipur to join in solidarity.
