NWU condemns molestation of minor

Expressing deep concern over the disturbing incident, the Naga Women's Union (NWU) has condemned the alleged molestation of a minor at Makhan Khullen in Senapati by an elderly individual.
In a condemnation, the NWU stated that such incidents are not only a flagrant violation of the values of integrity, respect and accountability that women strive to uphold within the community but it is utterly unethical and unequivocally condemned.
The NWU has called upon the authorities to act Swiftly and decisively to ensure justice is served.
The individual responsible for such reprehensible act must be held accountable under the full extent of the law, it added.
NWU said that the incident is a stark reminder of the collective responsibility to safeguard the most vulnerable members of the society-children.
It highlights the need for increased vigilance and preventive measures to protect them.
It is imperative to ensure that the community stands united against any form of abuse and work together to ensure that the children are protected and their well-being is prioritized where every child can grow up free from fear and harm, the release said.
NWU also extended solidarity with the victim and their family while adding that they will stand with them in unison and commit to support them.
