Imphal, November 12 2025: A partially decomposed body of an unknown male was found lying at Lamding Cherapur Thounaojam Canal under Thoubal Police Station around 7:50 pm yesterday.

The unidentified male was 160 cm (5 feet 2 inch) in height, had a chubby build with short, black hair, no earring hole/ear piercing and appeared to be between 30 to 35 years of age.

As the body had started to decompose, his facial features were unrecognizable, according to a statement issued by Thoubal PS .

He was wearing a black sweatshirt, black jeans, white slippers and had a copper "tabiz" (talisman) on his right wrist.

The dead body has been deposited at JNIMS Morgue, Porompat, Imphal East for identification and necessary legal formalities.

Thoubal PS has requested anyone who wants to claim or make inquiries to approach the Officer in-charge at Thoubal PS via mobile number 9862077053 or 8014839088 .
