Tarao community felicitates civil service achiever K Moningpha Tarao

Chandel, May 06 2026:
Katrimsa Moningpha Tarao, the first candidate from the Tarao community to clear the Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination (MCSCCE), 2022, securing 12th rank, was accorded a warm reception at Leishokching in Chandel district on Wednesday.
The felicitation programme was jointly organised by the Tarao Tribe Union, Tarao Women Union and Tarao Students' Union.
The programme was attended by MLA of 41 AC/ST Chandel, Dr SS Olish as chief guest, CNPO president DB Thamdok Francis as functional president, and SDO Chandel, Reikimdaar Khaling as guest of honour.

Executive secretary of TrBA Rev Kotha Khulan, also attended the programme as Blessing Minister.
Addressing the gathering, Dr SS Olish highlighted that Chandel, though a smal district, is home to diverse tribes coexisting with unique traditions, cultures and identities.
She encouraged the people not to feel discouraged as a smaller community, stating that the success of Moningpha is not only a pride for the Tarao community but for the entire State of Manipur.
She further urged citizens to take responsibility in supporting governance and contributing towards a progressive state.
Speaking of his achievement, K Moingpha Tarao credited his success to the persistent efforts of his parents, the encouragement and support from villagers, and their prayers.
He expressed his commitment to serve the State and its people with humility and dedication, drawing strength from the blessings of the community.
As part of the programme, villagers felicitated him with gifts and offered prayers for his continued success.
K Moningpha Tarao hails from Khuringmul village in Chandel district and is the son of K Mela Tarao and Kh Easter Tarao.
He secured 12th rank overall and 2nd rank in the ST category in the MCSCCE, 2022 .
