Angry student volunteers disrupt MPSC exam
Three students, four police personnel injured in scuffles

Imphal, July 26 2015:
Manipur Public Service Commission-conducted Executive Officer and Assistant examination 2014 was forced to halt midway at Ibotonsana Girls' Higher Secondary School, Imphal by angry volunteers of Joint Students' Union of Government Higher Secondary Schools on Sunday.
Reports said at least three students and four police personnel were injured in scuffles inside the school campus.
Meanwhile, the Joint Students' Union of Government Higher Secondary Schools has announced that it will shut down all Government Departments until implementation of Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) in Manipur.
The incident took place at around 10:30 am.
The exam appeared by some 400 candidates started at 9 am.
The same MPSC-conducted exam was also held at DM College, Johnstone Higher Secondary School and TG Higher Secondary School.

A group of volunteers numbering about seven barged into the Ibotonsana Girls' Higher Secondary School campus from the back side and started breaking school furniture.
The exam was forced to stop abruptly.
The angry volunteers also damaged a water tank kept outside the school room.
Notably, the union had already announced that all Government Higher Secondary Schools should not be re-opened until August 2 in support of the demand for implementation of ILP system.
Later in the afternoon, the union organized a press meet at the office of Manipur Students Federation (MSF), Keishamthong Top Leirak.
Union member Hijam Bishesh said three student volunteers were injured in a scuffle with police at Ibotonsana Girls' Higher Secondary School.
He said the police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the student protesters including himself and lashed out at the Manipur Police for using rubber bullets, tear gas canisters and lathis against students.
Bishesh said the union has taken a decision to lock down all Government Higher Secondary Schools until August 2 and that an agreement had also been reached between the union and All Private Teachers' Association to re-open all private schools from August 3 .
He announced that the union has decided to close down all Government Departments to intensify the ILP movement until the ILPS is enforced by the Government.
