Imphal, July 26 2015:
The All Manipur United Disables Organisation (AMUDO) will stage a sit-in-protest demanding implementation of ILPS in the State on July 28 at Singjamei Chingamakhong.
Speaking to reporters at their Yaiskul Police Lane office, AMUDO secretary Angom Momo urged the differently abled persons of the State to take part in the protest.
He said that the Government would not be able to suppress the people's movement demanding protection of indigenous people.
Regarding Government schemes for differently abled persons, Momo further said that AMUDO submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, Social Welfare Minister, Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary (Social Welfare) and Social Welfare Director urging them to release financial assistance, unemployment allowance for 2013-14 fiscal, marriage incentive and grant-in-aid to NGOs for 2014-15 fiscal.
On July 17, the Social Welfare Minister assured the organisation to fulfil the demands within 15 days, he said.
In this regard, he thanked the Chief Minister, Social Welfare Minister and Director.
