Two AR killed, three injured in IED blast

Imphal, November 11 2014:
At least two personnel of 25 Assam Rifles were killed while three sustained grievous injuries in a powerful IED blast triggered by unidentified miscreants at Biahang village bordering Myanmar under Singhat sub-division in Churachandpur district today at around 11.25 am.
The deceased have been identified as PK Sharma from Silchar, Assam and Ramcharan.
The three injured personnel identified as Suresh Kumar; Anje and Neyulu were admitted to Leimakhong Army Hospital for treatment.
Police sources said a team of 25 AR was conducting a Road Opening Party (ROP) at Biahang village as done on daily basis when a powerful IED bomb went off leaving two personnel dead.
One of the deceased died on the spot while the other succumbed to the injuries at Leimakhong Army Hospital.
After the blast, a search operation was carried out at the village but no arrest was made.
No organization has claimed responsibility for the attack till the filing this report.
Post mortem of the dead bodies will be performed at JNIMS morgue tomorrow, the sources added.
