Imphal, November 11 2014:
Rama Foundation, Nagamapal RIMS Road organised a free training programme on mushroom cultivation at Luwangsangbam on Nov 8 wherein a resource person, Soram Rajendrakumar sensitised farmers from four districts.
M Miranda also extended financial assistance during the training programme.
Later in the day, Rama Foundation in collaboration with Women and Child Welfare Association conducted a programme on food preservation and processing at Kongba Laishram Leikai.
Meanwhile, Mushroom Growers' Association Manipur (MUGAM) organised an awareness programme on mushroom cultivation, vermi-compost and cultivation of vegetables at the residence of Waikhom Bhimo Singh at Laikot Kom village on Nov 9 .
The programme was attended by the villagers along with the chief L Thangso.
Prof N Iboton Singh, CAU, Dr M Mohendra Singh, Head of Physiology, JNIMS and Dr RK Tombisana Devi, Assoc Prof, Plant Pathology, CAU and L Thangso, chief of Laikot Kom attended the programme as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Soram Rajendrakumar, secy, MUGAM, N Kumar Mangang and Dr RK Tombisana spoke as the resource persons.
