3 held, case not yet cracked

Inspite of arresting three suspects in connection with the missing of two 12-year old children from the Children Home run by Manipur Mahila Kalyan Samiti at Kabo Leikai here last month, police are yet to solve the case and the whereabouts of the two missing children are not known.
The two missing children have been identified as Moirangthem Kennedy (12) of Yairipok Bishnunaha and Sagolsem Sanjay (12) of Khongjom Bazar.
Both of them have been missing from the Children Home since May 1 .
Kennedy is said to a student of Class-V at Khunthokhanbi Model Primary School while Sanjay is a student of Class I in St Patrick English School.
Addressing a press conference at Manipur Press Club here today, representatives of the Manipur Mahila Kalyan Samiti and family members of the two missing children informed that subsequent to lodging a complaint on May 5, police have arrested three suspects in this connection.
However, the police are yet to crack the case and the whereabouts of the children are still not known.
Identifying the three suspects arrested as Longjam Sunil (37) of Koirengei, Oinam Santoshkumar (36) of Sagolband Thingom Leikai and Takhellambam Premjit (41) of Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai, functionaries of the Children Home said that before being arrested by the police, the functionaries of the Children Home and the family members have met one of the suspects.
However, the two children have not been set free nor allowed their family members to meet them.
They suspected that the two children may have been called out from the Children Home by some persons known to them with the intention of trafficking them.
Mahila Kalyan Samiti has appealed to all for co-operation in tracing the two missing children.
