Senapati, June 24 2019: The Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) had feted the 4 toppers from the district in the recently declared Class X and XII examinations conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) during a solemn function held at Garden Kitchen, Senapati.

The felicitation programme was attended by Somorjit Salam, DC, Senapati as the special guest in the presence of president, Naga People's Organisation; president and colleagues of the Senapati District Women's Association; SDSA unit presidents of Mao Students Union; Maram Students Union; Thangal Students Union; Poumai Naga Students Union; Newman Polah, Edn Secy; ANSAM; Vice Principal of Don Bosco Higher Secondary, Senapati; Asst Headmaster of St Anthony School, Senapati and parents/ guardians of the toppers.

Mention may be made that LP Tracy from Don Bosco Hr Sec, Senapati got 3rd rank (Arts) in COHSEM; Benedict Beshedangao Haveio Chao from COMET attained 12th rank (Science) in COHSEM, B Shene Susan from St Anthony got 18th rank in BOSEM and Ng Havanai from St Anthony School attained 21st position in BOSEM examinations.

Speaking as the special guest, DC Somorjit Salam congratulated the toppers for their hard work and determination to reach new height in their lives.

The DC then urged the toppers to continue to focus on their studies and also help the weaker students to pass their exam in their free time.

While appreciating the student body for organizing coaching camps for class X students in the past in the district headquarters to prepare the students for the examination, Somorjit Salam suggested the student body to organise more such camp for the welfare of the students.

Kaikho Hopeson Mao, president, SDSA brought congratulatory note from the student community of the district to the 4 toppers of the district.

It is the first ever felicitation programme for the toppers from the district and with pride a cash prize of Rs 10,000 was awarded to COHSEM toppers and Rs 5,000 to BOSEM toppers with citation from the student body, the president said lauding the Don Bosco Hr Sec, and St Anthony's School, Senapati for producing toppers from their institutions and making the district proud.

Kapani Lohrii, president of the Mao Students Union also encouraged the toppers for bringing fame and glory to the district.

Many young boys and girls will be inspired by their accomplishment, he added.
