Imphal, October 15 2023: Many continue to extend humanitarian aid to the people affected by the ongoing conflict in the State to provide some relief and alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.

Karnataka Meitei Association (KMA), the Meitei diaspora organization residing in the State of Karnataka, has been consistently working to reach out to the families severely impacted by the current conundrum in Manipur.

In addition to the several relief materials provided to relief camps in various districts of Manipur, KMA has stepped forward to provide financial assistance to support the families in dire need in a phase manner.

After having disbursed a sum of Rs 10,000 each to two grieving victims' families as an initial gesture last month, KMA in the second phase of the same initiative, has provided another sum of Rs 10,000 each to two more victims' families of (Late) Angom Bashanta of Phayeng Ching Khunou and (Late) Haobijam Somenkumar of Pangei Waiton Lamkhai on October 15, 2023 .

According to a release issued by KMA, this financial aid is a small effort to help alleviate some of the immediate burdens faced by those who have lost their loved ones in the ongoing turmoil.

"Our commitment to the victims' families runs deep, and we pledge to continue our unwavering drive to stand beside them, providing solace through these trying times", it added.

The KMA also expressed its dissatisfaction and disappointment to the Government and local MLAs for their failure to provide comfort & relief to the families of such victims, who are in dire need of assistance during this tragic period.

KMA further conveyed its profound gratitude to all its esteemed contributors, both within Karnataka & beyond and added that without their support, this initiative would not have been possible.

Similarly, St Joseph School, Sangaiprou, 2018-19 Batch on Sunday provided relief materials to the relief camps set up at Thanga and Nungoo.

Earlier, the group distributed relief materials at relief camps opened in Kangchup on October 8 .

The group also provided monetary aid of Rs 10,000 to support a 6 years old girl who lost her father in the present conflict.

Janata Dal (United) Manipur State Unit vice president Sanjoy Ahanthem yesterday provided drinking water, medicines and financial aid to the internally displaced people (IDP) taking shelter at the relief camp opened in Sendra Ithing Tourist Centre.

Sanjoy also distributed sweets to the children staying in the camp.

Meanwhile, Nepram Sagie Trust, Sagolband Nepra Menjor Leikai, today donated a sum of Rs 15,000 to support the various initiatives taken by Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch for the welfare of IDP in the State.

In a release, IRCS Manipur State Branch informed that the society has received donations amounting to Rs 3,65,002 so far from various generous individuals and organisations.

Seeking donations from generous individuals and organisations, IRCS Manipur State Branch asserted that it will continue its humanitarian activities to support and assist the displaced people during these difficult times.
