Imphal, June 14 2025: Manipur may see the establishment of a Labour Court soon after about 75 years, the All Manipur Trade Unions Council has said, expressing gratitude to the Deputy Labour Commissioner for sending a proposal for the same to the State Government.

A proposal for establishment of one or more Labour Courts has been sent by Tanushree Naorem, Deputy Labour Commissioner to the State Government.

As such, the State may finally see the establishment of a Labour Court which will protect the interests and wellbeing of the labourers, which form more than 80 percent of the population, said AMTUC in a statement.

It appreciated the Deputy Labour Commissioner and all her sub-ordinate staff for making the proposal to the State Government.
