Medical camp brings vital healthcare to Poi village

In a meaningful step towards strengthening community welfare in remote regions, amedical camp was organised at Poi Village on November 12, 2025 by Assam Rifles.
Led by the Chief Medical Officer, the initiative was supported by a committed team of nursing staff and paramedics personnel of the Force.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the outreach aimed to provide essential medical care to villagers facing challenges in accessing regular healthcare due to geographical isolation and limited resources.
A total of 105 villagers.
including 30 children, 50 women and 25 men, were examined for common ailments such as respiratory infections, seasonal flu, joint pain and nutritional deficiencies.
Each patient received appropriate consultation and treatment based on individual medical needs.
Medicines including Paracetamol, Cetirizine, Ambroxol-based cough syrup, Iron and Folic Acid tablets, Multivitamins.
Calcium supplements, ORS packets, Ciprofloxacin eye drops and antiseptic ointments were provided to address specific health conditions.
In addition to clinical care, the medical team conducted an awareness session focusing on personal hygiene, safe drinking water practices and the importance of timely medical intervention to prevent avoidable complications.
The villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate service extended by the medical team of the Assam Rifles of Somsai region.
The initiative not only alleviated immediate health concerns but also fostered awareness and trust within the community.
