Directorate of Fisheries announces winners of fish crop competition

Imphal, November 02 2019: The Directorate of Fisheries, Manipur has announced the results of the Fish Fair-cum Fish Crop Production Competition, 2019 held at Dhanamanjuri College of Arts ground, Thangmeiband on October 29 .

A total of 94,955 kg of fishes were produced and H Rabi Singh of Keirenphabi, (sponsored by CEO, FFDA Bishnupur) bagged the first prize of Rs 1,00,000 for producing 20,450 kg of fishes in the fair, said a statement of the Directorate today.

The fish fair cum fish crop competition is held every year one day before Ningol Chakkouba.

Tongbram Raghu of Keibul Salam (sponsored by DFO Bishnupur ) produced 12,250 kg of fishes and bagged the second prize which carries cash award of Rs 70,000 .

Laishram Dhanachandra of Khabam Bamdiar (sponsored by DFO, Imphal West) bagged the third prize (Rs 50,000) for producing 10,920 kg .

Laishram Dhanachandra also won the first prize (Rs 20,000) for producing 3,280 kg of indigenous fishes.

Best fish production officer titles (Valley and Hill) were won by Hemchandra N, CEO FFDA Bishnupur (valley) and Kh Ibetombi Devi, DFO Chandel (Hill) .

The awards carry Rs 15,000 each.
