Festival of Narrative Art begins

Imphal, July 28 2024: A 3-Day Festival of Narrative Art (Puwari Leeba) organised by Mamataz Manipuri Dance & Music Centre (MMDMC) began yesterday at its premises in Sagolband Khamnam Bazar, Soyam Leirak, Imphal.

The festival was conducted under the aegis of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.

Sunanda Thokchom, Secretary of Manipur State Kala Akademi, Imphal attended the inaugural function of the 3-Day Festival as the chief guest.

At the event, Sunanda Thokchom talked about the importance of preserving the traditional art forms of Manipur like "Puwari Leeba" .

Soyam Ramesh, former secretary of MMDMC delivered the keynote address while the vote of thanks was proposed by Chingangbam Modusudan, treasurer of MMDMC.

During the 3-Day Gestival, Narrative Art (Puwari Leeba) performahce will be presented by Mutum Chanu Yoihenbi, Tayenjam Shamungou Meetei and Yumnamcha Nongdamlel Mangang.
