World Environmental Health Day observed

World Environmental Health Day was observed today at Chamdil Khullen, Chandel, with enthusiastic participation from villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr N Munal Meitei, DFO/Chandel highlighted that World Environmental Health Day is celebrated globally to raise awareness about the critical link between environmental health and public health.
He urged villagers to support afforestation efforts, stressing that "only when the environment breathes clean air can we remain healthy and fit" .
Dr Munal also appealed to the people of Chandel to extend their support and participation in the forthcoming 71 st Wildlife Week 2025, which will focus on conservation of wildlife and birds.
As part of the nationwide initiative of "Ek Din Ek Ghanta-Ek Sath", a cleanliness drive was carried out at Chamdil Khullen.
This was followed by a plantation drive under the Sewa Parv campaign of the Nation First @75 initiative.
Around 180 tree saplings were planted in and around the village.
