AMESCO to host Ningol Chakkouba feast

Imphal, October 16 2022: In keeping with tradition, All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) is gearing up to organise the annual "Eikhoigi eche-echal ningshingba numit" (Ningol Chakkouba) on October 27 at Thamlai village in Tengnoupal district.

In a statement, AMESCO has appealed to people to refrain from placing too much importance on expensive gifts on the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba.

It may be noted that AMESCO began organising Ningol Chakkouba events from 1993 and continues to do the same.

Altogether, AMESCO has organised 128 such events, including the one slated to be held on October 27, the statement added.

Lastly, AMESCO has urged the attending women from all communities to don their respective traditional attires and bring only home grown fruits and vegetables as gifts.
