Mahila Congress, DMCTE celebrate Foundation Day

The 53rd Foundation Day of Dhanamanjuri College of Teacher Education (DMCTE) was celebrated at the college's jubilee hall today.
The celebration was graced by Dr Konika Khuraijam, Principal, DMCTE; Dr Anita Kangabam, Coordinator, IQAC; and Dr Ch Shantikumar Singh, Assistant Professor, DMCTE.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Konika said that the college, originally part of the DM College's Education Department established in 1952, gained a separate existence as the Teacher Training College in 1972."It was later renamed the Post Graduate Training College on September 15, 1972", she added.
Dr Konika continued that the DMCTE was upgraded to the level of College of Teacher Education in 1997, signifying the college's enhanced status and its recognition by the NCTE.
She also highlighted the role of the college in imparting the formal training to the teachers who will further teach students in various educational institutes across the State.
"The trainee teachers are not only going to groom students but also facilitate the State's development at the same time", said Dr Konika while urging all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college to continue their noble work with dedication.
The trainees and staff of the colleged led by the Principal also paid floral tributes to the bust of Maharani Dhanamanjuri located in DM College campus.
Moreover, Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee celebrated its 41st Foundation Day at Congress Bhawan, BT Road, Imphal today.
The celebration began with the hoisting of 'Mahila Congress Flag' followed by singing of National Anthem and National Song.
Former office bearers and presidents of Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee were also presented simple gifts as a mark of appreciation for their sacrifices & contributions towards the party and the people.
Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee president Mutum Surma Devi was also present at the event.
