80th anniversary of first INA flag hoisting observed

Commemorating the unfurling of the Indian National Army's (INA) flag for the first time at Moirang Kangla on April 14, 1944, the 80th Anniversary of Flag Hoisting Day was observed at INA Martyrs' Memorial Complex today.
The observance ceremony was organised by the INA War Museum, Moirang, INA Local Advisory Committee Moirang in association with the Department of Art & Culture, Government of Manipur.
Manipur University Vice Chancellor Professor N Lokendra kicked off the ceremony with the hoisting of the INA flag at INA Martyrs' Memorial Complex.
The ceremony was graced by Professor N Lokendra as the chief guests; M Joy, Commissioner, Art & Culture, Government of Manipur; as the functional president and L Nishikanta, retd Lt General and A Sharatchandra Sharma, retd Principal Moirang College as the guests of honour.
As a part of the function, floral tributes were offered on the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
Meanwhile Professor N Lokendra also inaugurated a photo exhibition on Subhas Chandra Bose and the soldiers of the INA under the theme "Honour their sacrifice; Be inspired by their thoughts; Live their vision" .
In addition, a brochure describing the INA War Museum cum Library of the INA Martyrs' Memorial Complex was also released on the occasion.
